The little red digger

Every week when we go to the library we explore books written by New Zealand authors. Over the past four weeks we have read the series of books about the little yellow digger by Betty and Alan Gilderdale.

We had no sooner finished reading all the books in the series when we had a little red digger turn up at our school and work just outside our classroom. We spent the morning working for short periods of time and then racing to the window to watch the digger!!!

 We were fascinated that the man stood behind the little red digger

We watched that little red digger collect dirt and put it carefully on the truck. It was a magical moment in time to watch a class of 15 boys and 4 girls be captured by something happening just outside our classroom!!!!

Road safety posters

We made some road safety posters. We had to make a lot of decisions -

-which way to place our paper

- the size of our title - Big or little 

- where to put our picture and writing.
