Sorting our toys

This week we each brought a toy to school. During the week we sorted our toys and found that they belonged to one of two groups. Those made of plastic and those with soft bodies.

We also looked at toys that we could change e.g. position of their arms, transform into something else.

At the end of the week we each took a photo of our toy which we will use for motivation when writing next week.

Toys, toys and more toys

Today we started our unit on recreational pastimes by visiting the Tinderbox show. Richard had a lot of reproduction toys that we were allowed to play with. All the toys were made of wood and string and we had a lot of fun playing with them. Richard told us that these types of toys would have been made by the children's parents or older brothers and sisters.

Gumboot and umbrella day

On Friday a number of us walked to school. To promote walking in all types of weather we wore our gumboots and carried our umbrella's in case it rained !!  It did rain, which made for an interesting and enjoyable walk to school. Walking through puddles is a lot more fun when you have gumboots on.

Fun morning of sport

Today we took part in a fun morning of sport - revisiting skills we had learnt in Term 2 with the Kiwi sport coaches.
