Homework challenge

As our unit of work on the water cycle came to an end,  each child was encouraged to complete a homework challenge. Well done to all the children who completed this task.

Water cycle

Look at the diagram of the Water Cycle we made in our classroom. We looked in teams to draw each part. We used this diagram to write an explanation of the water cycle.

Tennis

Over the past four weeks we have had coaching with a tennis coach. Each time we have had to complete a range of activities e.g. bouncing and catching a tennis ball, rolling a tennis ball around the tennis racket. Over the four weeks our skills improved and we all gained confidence in using a small tennis ball.  :-)

Literacy week

Thank you to all the parents who helped the children of room one with their homework challenge this week. The plate masks were amazing. Can you work out what book character we each are?

Science and Technology week

During science and technology we explored making umbrella's. We worked in teams - taking turns and listening to each others suggestions. We made umbrella's of all different shapes and sizes. We had a lot of fun. Enjoy the photos below.

The rain forest express

We were so happy that the sun was shining on Tuesday as we headed out to the Waitakere Ranges.
Below are some photos we captured on our journey as we travelled on the Rain Forest Express to see the Upper Nihotupu Dam. From the Dam we walked out of the bush to catch the bus.  It was an action packed day where we saw a lot of water!!!
