End of term - homework project

At the end of term three, we had a homework challenge based around our topic  Space. As teachers we were impressed with the time and effort that had gone into making some creative projects. Well done everyone

Planting flowers in the butterfly house

This week we planted some cosmos plants inside the butterfly house as well as pansies outside the house as we ensure we have some food for the butterflies that will emerge from their chrysalis .

The moon

 Over the past week we have been reading books about the moon and watching some utube clips of mans first walk on the moon. As we found out information we organised it by using a class Y chart. Before we wrote an information report about the moon we made a web sharing all the facts we knew about the moon. We each wrote an information report and drew our own little Y charts. Look out for some of us reading our information reports on the blog in the near future.

Miss Linehan from room 2 showed us how to make these cool moons so we each made one.

On Friday when Sophie's Nana and Grandad came to pick her up at the end of the day we invited them into our classroom and asked them where they were when Neil Armstrong took that first step on the moon. Thank you for sharing your experience of this historic moment with us.

The web

As we explore the topic of the sun, earth and moon we recalled all the facts we could remember about the sun. To do this we sat in a circle and rolled a ball of wool to each other recalling a fact before we rolled it. It was a lot of fun, we remembered a lot of facts and made a rather impressive web.
