A view from Flynn's window

Flynn sent us this really neat photo that he took from his bedroom window. In the email Flynn sent to us he told us .........
Here is a picture I took from outside my bedroom window. You can see the big trees in the back are on our paddocks and the mountain behind is called Tamahunga that we live under.

Thanks for sending us the photo Flynn.

What can you see from your bedroom window?
Send a photo taken looking out from your bedroom window to us via Mrs Rennie-Younger (hrennie-younger@sunnybrae.school.nz) and we will put it on our blog.

Dinosaur song

Mrs Rennie-Younger has returned and is happy to be surrounded by the room 6 children who have learned so much about dinosaurs over the past 5 and a half weeks under Mrs Chambers careful and enthusiastic guidance.

This week we have enjoyed listening to his song. The children are keen to share it with you all and have asked me to place it on the blog. Enjoy.

Week 1 and week 2 Term 4 2010

In week 1 Mrs Rennie-Younger headed off for 5 weeks to work as a teacher administrator for the National Education Monitoring Project and the lovely room 6 is being taught by Mrs Chambers. This term we are looking at footprints in the past, with a focus on dinosaurs.

In week 1 room 6 recorded what they knew about dinosaurs using a Y chart.

In week 2 the children had to search through the sand to find some very special dinosaur bones!!!! Once all the bones were found they carefully put the bones together to discover what dinosaur they had made. It was the great dinosaur dig.

Week 9 Term 3 2010 -

This week we had been busy preparing for our production of 'Footprints through story land'. Room 6 are bears in the production so we have been making masks to wear and have had to try on our costumes. We can't wait until next week when we can show our family and friends our dance - our time to shine on the stage.

Carol (Blake's Nana) has worked with us on the computer this term as we sorted the photos we had taken of man made and natural features. We used the computer programme 'inspiration' to show our learning. Click on each image to enlarge it.
