Weekly update

During week 2 of this term Neve and Emily from the school garden group visited our classroom and explained how the worm bin worked. They were great teachers.

They explained that -
worms don't like plastic, bread, ham or orange peels and that you have to spread the food evenly over the three bins

from the worm bin - they collect the liquid and make worm tea which they sell

the children in the garden group water the school garden and that they grow the most amazing vegetables.

Neve very kindly cleaned out our class worm bin and we are now trying really hard to only put food scraps in it that the worms will like.

Thanks for teaching us Neve and Emily.

  1. Well done to Neve and Emily for sharing what they know about the worm bin. It is good to see that you have been learning about how to use your waste to help the environment Room 2.
